The Valley of Mines in Khorinis is a dark and uncertain land where the prosperous mining days are long gone. Once a vibrant and thriving region, it was cut off from the outside world by an impenetrable magical barrier, turning it into a seemingly natural prison where slaves struggled to survive.

Everything changed when one brave man broke the chains of slavery, destroyed the barrier, and banished Evil. However, Khorinis was not prepared for the consequences of this act. Without the protection of the magical dome, chaos erupted – a small militia garrison was unable to contain the rising violence, and numerous clashes forced prisoners to flee into the forests and mountains. Banditry has crippled the region, agriculture is declining, and food supplies are becoming increasingly scarce. Fear is growing within the city, and beyond its walls no one is safe. Khorinis is at war – a civil war.

And even though it seemed that the worst was already over, evil returns. This time it rises again, stronger and more dangerous than ever before, and no one seems capable of stopping it.
