The Kingdom of Myrtana is fighting against an invasion of orcs, and King Rhobar II is using prisoners to mine magical ore. When the magical barrier spirals out of control, the colony turns into a brutal world ruled by convicts. In the midst of this chaos, the Nameless Hero appears—and it is with him that a story begins which could change everything.

Gameplay

This is an open-world action RPG where you develop your character, join one of the factions, and make decisions that influence the story. Combat is more dynamic than in the original, but still requires timing and skill.

The Valley of Mines in Khorinis is a dark and uncertain land where the prosperous mining days are long gone. Once a vibrant and thriving region, it was cut off from the outside world by an impenetrable magical barrier, turning it into a seemingly natural prison where slaves struggled to survive.

Everything changed when one brave man broke the chains of slavery, destroyed the barrier, and banished Evil. However, Khorinis was not prepared for the consequences of this act. Without the protection of the magical dome, chaos erupted – a small militia garrison was unable to contain the rising violence, and numerous clashes forced prisoners to flee into the forests and mountains. Banditry has crippled the region, agriculture is declining, and food supplies are becoming increasingly scarce. Fear is growing within the city, and beyond its walls no one is safe. Khorinis is at war – a civil war.

And even though it seemed that the worst was already over, evil returns. This time it rises again, stronger and more dangerous than ever before, and no one seems capable of stopping it.

Return to Myrtana as the Nameless Hero in Gothic Classic – the award-winning RPG that helped define the genre and inspired countless role-playing games that followed.

A great war rages across the kingdom of Myrtana. Hordes of orcs have invaded the lands of men, and the king desperately needs vast quantities of ore to forge weapons for his soldiers and prepare them for battle against a deadly enemy. In these dark times, anyone who breaks the law is sentenced to forced labor in the massive penal colony of Khorinis, where the kingdom’s precious ore is mined.

The entire Colony is enclosed by a magical barrier – a sphere stretching two kilometers in diameter that cuts prisoners off from the outside world. Anyone can enter from the outside, but once inside, escape is impossible. However, the barrier soon proved to be a double-edged sword. The prisoners seized the opportunity, revolted against their captors, and established three rival camps. Now the king can no longer simply demand ore shipments. Instead, he must negotiate with the Colony’s new rulers.

When the Nameless Hero is cast through the barrier into this vast prison, he has only one chance to survive: forge uneasy alliances with the Colony’s inhabitants and search for a way to escape.
