Star Wars™: Dark Forces Remaster is a production by Nightdive Studios—a full-fledged remaster built on the proprietary KEX Engine. Both new and returning players will find enhanced gameplay, high-resolution textures, improved lighting and rendering, as well as full gamepad support in Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster.

The original Star Wars: Dark Forces, released in 1995, raised the bar for FPS games by offering a high level of interactivity and freedom of movement, a wide selection of items and power-ups, and engaging locations.

In this first FPS set in the Star Wars universe, players take on the role of Kyle Katarn—a mercenary who has defected from the Galactic Empire. Katarn joins the Rebel Alliance’s covert operations unit, tasked with infiltrating the Empire and uncovering the truth behind the secret Dark Trooper project. If Katarn and the Rebel Alliance fail to act, the Empire will develop a powerful new line of battle droids and armored stormtroopers, further strengthening its grip on the galaxy.
