In each level, Astro encounters obstacles, fights enemies avoids traps, and sometimes also controls his Dual Speeder vehicle, which adds additional variety to the game. Astro also gains new skills, such as the Barkster, which allows for quick attacks, or special gloves that enable you to attack enemies from a greater distance. Over 15 new Astro Bot skills have been designed, and prepared with the capabilities of the DualSense controller in mind. Collecting robots is also an important element of the game – without the right number of companions, the player will not be able to take on the boss fight.

In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, the creators have improved the control mechanics, introduced the option of automatic saving and recorded all dialogues anew. Weapon durability has also been improved, which reduces the need to constantly return for new equipment.
