The main character wields a katana. Some foes require special techniques to defeat — once taken down, Kenji can enter a “hypercharged” mode, allowing him to eliminate enemies with a single strike.

Kenji has a wide range of moves: he can deflect projectiles, air dash, climb surfaces, and perform the stylish “Guillotine Boost”, bouncing off enemies or attacks with an added hit. At the end of each stage, the player receives a score based on performance.
